Four years ago we opened Splendid Photo in Newtown.

Our goal was to offer high quality affordable film processing and scanning and analogue photographic equipment. It’s been a challenging four years for everyone but Splendid has survived. To celebrate we hosted a group show at MEANWHILE Gallery with some of the photogs that have been on this journey with us! Thanks to @c.r.kennedy_nz, JLX, @drinkalmighty and @parrotdogbeer!

From the bottom of our hearts the Splendid Family would like to thank all of you, our customers, friends, pain-in-the-butts and everyone in between, without all of you we wouldn’t be here. 

Arapata is a relatively new analogue photographer who is self taught. Capturing his world around him, his images are raw intimate moments that really lend well to the analogue format. We had a quick chat about his background and what he likes to shoot and what he likes to use to shoot.
