Scan Folder Info
Your Splendid Scans: Guide & Info
Received scans from us via our shared Google Drive folder? This convenient system allows you to access your photos from any device. However, there are some important rules and steps to follow to ensure your photos stay safe.
Important: How the Folder Works
1. Each order has its own folder
Any more work through Splendid will be added to your same named folder under the Job Order Number
2. Ideally, Don't Rename the Folder or any sub folders
These folders are owned by Splendid but shared with you. Our system uses the specific folder name to upload future orders and organisation. If you rename it, our system loses connection and we can't upload your new scans or track down old ones!
3. Temporary Storage
Files are stored online for approximately 12 months. After this, they may be moved to offline storage and we will charge to re-upload the files. You must download your photos to your own device within this timeframe.
4. "Moving" vs "Downloading"
CRITICAL: Please retain from using the "Move" function within Google Drive. Because we retain ownership of the original files, if we delete the files from our end (after 6 months), they will disappear from your drive too, even if you "moved" them.
The only way to safely keep your files forever is to DOWNLOAD them to your device or hard drive.

We recommend doing this on a computer for the best experience.

Downloaded files are typically saved in your device's "Files" or "Downloads" folder.
Negative Retrieval
Don't forget your physical negatives! If you asked for them to be kept (cut and sleeved) come and get them—they are your originals.
- First 6 Months: Negatives are stored in-store for easy collection.
- Next 6 Months: Moved off-site. Retrieval incurs a $20 fee.
- After 12 Months: Uncollected negatives will be destroyed.
Asked to Discard?
If you requested your films to be discarded, we still hold them for 6 months just in case you change your mind. Reply to your email within that time to save them.
